Minor, Carmel power past Mundelein

Carmel Catholic freshman Brienne Minor has her high school tennis career off to a terrific start.

On Tuesday, Minor captured a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles over Mundelein junior Ari Dechter, who took fourth in the state last year.

Minor’s win helped propel the Corsairs to a 6-1 win.

Ali MacDonald (No. 2) claimed the Mustangs’ only win.

Minor was a winner on Monday, too, defeating Libertyville senior Sarah Paulson in straight sets.

Grayslake Central 6, Dundee-Crown 1: The Rams’ Emily Cullom won 6-0, 6-0 in her No. 1 singles match.
