Junior Patriot Wrestling Club begins Nov. 14

The Junior Patriots Wrestling Club, a feeder program for Stevenson High School, will begin its season in November. The club is open to children in first to eighth grade, and does not have a tryout process.

This program teaches wrestling fundamentals and instills values of hard work, self-discipline, and the importance of goal-setting.

The season will begin Monday, Nov. 14 and end in March. Practices will be held two to three times per week for one or two hours each.

The team will compete in five to seven tournaments and wrestle against other clubs in head-to-head dual meets. No prior experience is necessary.

At the conclusion of the season, wrestlers will compete in the 2012 IKWF state tournament series.

The cost to join the club is $275, which includes Junior Patriot wrestling gear (except shoes) and a USA Wrestling competition card. The fee also includes registration in the Spring 2012 Junior Patriot Wrestling Club.

To sign up for the club, contact the Patriot Recreation Education Program (PREP) at www.d125.org or call (847) 415-4145.
