Boy hit by baseball died from cerebral hemorrhage
The death of a 12-year-old Oswego boy who collapsed after being hit in the neck with a baseball in Wheaton is a tragedy that has touched the fabric of the community. The sinking of Titanic 100 years ago captured the world’s interest. Fox Valley residents, too, were touched by the tragedy. A St. Charles mother and her two children — who had been visiting relatives in Europe — had secured tickets for the ship’s maiden voyage to return to their husband and father, Oscar Johnson. Boy saved from drowning at family gathering
A 4-year-old boy was rescued from drowning Saturday afternoon after being found unresponsive in a Des Plaines pool, authorities said. According to a statement by Des Plaines police, the boy and his family were attending a family gathering in the 1700 block of Forest Avenue when the near drowning occurred. Full story.
Villa Park man drowns after falling from kayak
A Villa Park man died early Saturday after falling into a pond near an apartment complex in unincorporated Des Plaines. Anthony Hensley, 37, died at 8:16 a.m. after being transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, said a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Full story.

Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian will be at the Sears store at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 20 for a signing event and meet-and-greet with fans.
