Cops: Men caught with pot, pills in Lakemoor
Two McHenry County men were arrested on various drug charges after being pulled over by McHenry County sheriff’s police Friday near Lakemoor, authorities said.
David V. Cwiak, 20, of the 38000 block if Sixth Avenue in Spring Grove, and Michael L. Reardon, 20, of the 10000 block of Maiden Lane in Richmond, were both charged with delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance after their arrest Friday night, McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren announced in a news release Monday.
Nygren said intelligence gathered caused officers to make a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by Cwiak in the Lakemoor area.
A K-9 unit searched the vehicle after the stop and found 1.3 grams of cannabis, 123 prescription pills, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, packaging material, and $456, police said.
The street value of the drugs seized was $655, authorities estimated.
The two were also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, while Reardon picked up an extra charge of possession of cannabis.
