Palatine rebounds from loss

Palatine bounced back from its worst offensive performance of the season with one of its best in Saturday night's nonconference boys basketball game with visiting Glenbrook South.

The Pirates (4-4) rallied from a 1-point deficit going into the fourth quarter to pull out a 64-59 victory. They just missed their season high of a week ago in a 65-55 win over Prospect but were coming off a 49-37 loss at Barrington on Thursday.

John Millin had 17 points to lead a balanced attack for the Pirates. Jeremy Driggers scored 15 points, Egan Malley had 10 points and Peter Bony and Tom Hauert added 7 points apiece.

Palatine is at St. Viator at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Hinsdale Central 70, Meadows 52: Rolling Meadows (3-5) committed 27 turnovers and trailed 32-11 at halftime in the nonconference home loss. Junior guard Brian Nelms had a game-high 21 points for the Mustangs.

Downers South 61, Fremd 58: Fremd (4-4) lost its second straight game at Downers Grove South.

Fenton 52, Leyden 46: Alex Herrera had 19 points and Patrick Listwan added 12 points for Leyden (3-5) in the nonconference loss.
