It's that time of year for falling leaves, a chilly breeze and lots of fun at the Wheeling Park District.

Oktoberfest is coming to Heritage Park on Saturday, October 2, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This annual event is all about food, beer, music and merriment! Enjoy German and domestic beers with German-inspired food favorites like brats and pretzel bites served up by the iconic Old Munich Tavern in Wheeling. Live entertainment at the outdoor Performance Pavilion will be provided by Dan Mateja and IPA (International Polka Association) Tribute Band and 7th Heaven. Admission is FREE; food and beer are available for purchase.

Kids Pizza & Movie Party is back by popular demand on Friday, October 15, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, at the Community Recreation Center. This spook-tacular event takes place outdoors at Heritage Park; it is FREE and includes spooky storytelling, carnival games, balloonist and inflatables. Decorate a pumpkin to take home and create a craft, too.

Sunday, October 24, is the Day of the Dead Family 5K Run/Walk. Bring the whole family for a fun run around picturesque Heritage Park and the streets of Wheeling; entertainment along the route adds to the festive atmosphere.
