Schaumburg ends Maine South's 28-game win streak

Schaumburg believed it could bring an end to Maine South's 2-year run Friday night.

And with Shepard Little running with a vengeance after missing his entire junior year, the Saxons stunned the two-time defending Class 8A state champions and brought an end to the Hawks' 28-game win streak with a 29-17 victory at Gary Scholz Stadium.

Little's 3-yard TD run with 7:06 left in the third quarter put Schaumburg ahead to stay 15-10. Little finished with 244 yards rushing on 33 carries.

Schaumburg senior quarterback Mark Iannotti sealed the victory with a 7-yard TD run with 1:25 left.

Josh Marchok also had a pair of 1-yard TD runs for the Saxons.
