Wheaton's St. Matthew UCC to host fall Welcome Sunday Sept. 10
St. Matthew United Church of Christ of Wheaton invites community members to join in their annual "Come Together Sunday" on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Worship begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by food, games, and bouncy house.
Sunday school classes are offered at 10 a.m. every Sunday morning for children ages 3 years and older.
The community is invited to attend an adult book study at the church, beginning Sept. 17. It will be based on the book "How to Begin When Your World is Ending: A Spiritual Field Guide to Joy" by Baskette. All events are free and held at the church, 1420 S. Gables Blvd., Wheaton.
The United Church of Christ is a socially liberal mainline Protestant Christian denomination.
The UCC believes in justice for all people. They welcome the LGBTQ+ community, support their relationships, and advocate for their basic rights.
St. Matthew UCC is led by Pastor Erin Wyma, who previously served at the UCC Cathedral of Hope in Dallas, Texas, the largest LGBTQ church in the United States.
