Maine West Orchesis Dance Troupe benefit show for Tsunami Relief

Maine West has done a remarkable job instilling community service into its students. At its spring assembly on Friday they announced that the students had raised over $17,000 for the American Cancer Socity.

In that same spirit the members of Orchesis Dance Troupe wanted to give something back following the devastating Tsunami in Japan. For the first time in Maine West Orchesis' history, the dance troupe will present an encore presentation of this year's program idance. The proceeds will benefit the Tsunami relief efforts in Japan.

This undertaking is being put together within a couple of weeks timeframe. Permission was received today to proceed with the event. There is a little over two weeks to get the word out about this benefit.

The show idance will be presented Friday, May 6 at 7:30 pm in the Maine West auditorium. All proceeds will benefit the relief efforts in Japan and a donation will also be made to the American Cancer Society.

Please will be available in advance from the Fine Arts department or at the door. Maine West is located at 1755 Wolf Rd in Des Plaines, IL
