St. Charlesbull; Jordan Marie Lexell, 23, of the 10300 block of Palermo Circle in Tampa, Fla., was arrested Aug. 20 on charges of leaving the scene of a accident and improper lane usage, according to a police report. Police arrived at the 1800 block of Riverside Avenue for a report of a hit and run. Police found a white minivan with extensive damage to the driver's side. Additional officers located Lexell several blocks away. Lexell told police she was trying to turn left when she was sideswiped by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. Lexell said she was in the left turn lane and didn't see any other traffic when checking her mirrors. There is no left turn lane at the intersection where the accident occurred.bull; Joshua Reyes, 23, of the 300 block of Clayton Street in West Chicago and Alexis Xochil Aguilera, 19, of the 300 block of Blair Street in West Chicago, were arrested on Aug. 10 and charged with theft, according to a police report. Store security at Sears, in the 3700 block of East Main Street, observed Reyes, an employee at the store, selling a television to a friend of his named Alexis Aguilera. Security observed Reyes provide Aguilera with a Samsung Sound Bar, valued at about $150, which Aguilera did not pay for. Security observed Reyes ring up the sound bar, but then void it. Aguilera then left the store with the sound bar without paying for it. Reyes initially told store security he voided the transaction by mistake, but then admitted to store security that he planned the theft ahead of time with Aguilera. Reyes provided a written statement to police admitting the plan to steal the sound bar. Aguilera later turned herself into police and provided a written statement admitting her involvement. Both Reyes and Aguilera were charged with theft.bull; A man reported to police he believes someone struck him in back of the head, rendering him unconscious, as he left a tavern in the downtown area Saturday. The man told police he awoke on the ground near his car and attempted to drive himself home when he discovered he was bleeding from the back of his head. The police report indicates the man smelled of alcohol as he gave police the report. Police asked the man if it was possible he just fell on his own and struck his head. The man first told police he was unsure, then said he thought someone struck him from behind. None of the man's personal belongings were missing. Kane Countybull; An iPod Nano, some loose change and a tool kit were reported stolen Aug. 20 from an unlocked Ford F-150 on the 1S000 block of South Mill Creek Drive, near Geneva. The loss was estimated at $330, police said. bull; Police broke up an underage drinking party at 1:51 a.m. Tuesday on the 1N400 block of Northway Drive, near Elburn, according to a police report. Several youths admitted to drinking alcohol and were turned over to their parents, police said. bull; Several hand tools, including two Hilti hammer drills and a Dewalt cordless drill, were reported stolen Tuesday from a 2005 Chevy Fleet van on the 05N900 block of Meadows Street, near Maple Park, police said. bull; A Redmax pole pruner and a Stihl Pro FX585 trimmer were reported stolen Tuesday from a shed on the 1N100 block of Elm Road, near Geneva, according to a police report. The owner told police the theft occurred sometime between Aug. 9 and Tuesday. Carpentersvillebull; Charles E. Meyer, 38, of the 600 block of Fairlane Avenue, Geneva, was arrested and charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and seven counts of possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Kennedy Drive, authorities said. Police detained Meyer for driving on a suspended license and found him with 14 .45-caliber bullets, cocaine, Suboxone, syringes and other paraphernalia, authorities said. His bail was set at $20,000 and he is due in court on Sept. 3.
