Elgin Kyuki-Do students promoted at Black Belt Extravaganza
Students from Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin participated in the American Kyuki-Do Federation's annual Black Belt Extravaganza at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in the Wisconsin Dells, Nov. 4-6.
A total of 15 students promoted to various ranks of Black Belt during the three day event. The weekend's activities included instructional and motivational seminars for all ranks and ages.
Students from Elgin earning their rank designation at this event were:
• 1st Dan: Ethan Kujawa, Vicki Kujawa, Brandon Stumbaugh, Kate Stumbaugh, Donna Graziano, Ayden Kelly, Jayden Meyer, Omar Urbieta, Natalie Vargas and Nathan Kim.
• 2nd Dan: Ric Bodio, Tony Zambrano, Karen Sugino and Amani Herring
• 3rd Dan: Javier Parra
• 6th Dan: Rick Steinmaier
The American Kyuki-do Federation, Inc. is the sanctioning body for all Kyuki-do academies across North America and was founded by Grandmaster OK Hyung Kim in 1979.
