Arlington Heights Community Band Recruiting Brass Players

The Arlington Heights Community Concert Band is recruiting area musicians who play tuba, French horn and euphonium to join the band.

The band performs four indoor concerts at Forest View Education Center in Arlington Heights as well as four outdoor summer concerts per concert season. Rehearsal is currently underway for the holiday concert scheduled for 3 p.m. Dec. 18.

Under the direction of Pietro Pisello, a wide variety of music is played such as marches, show tunes, light classical and contemporary pieces.

Membership is open to anyone ages 14 and older who has experience playing a musical instrument. No audition is required and seat placement is at the conductor's discretion. The band members have varied skill levels from professional musicians to former high school and college musicians. No need to worry if you are "good enough" to join.

Weekly rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesdays, at Forest View Educational Center Theater, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights. Please bring your instrument and try the band out, or just come to visit a rehearsal.

The mission of the Arlington Heights Community Concert Band is to provide musical entertainment to the community, to provide opportunities for community members to join and be part of a musical organization, to provide for individual musical expression and growth, and to contribute to the community's music appreciation.
