Glencoe's Aitz Hayim will Present Tamar Manasseh founder of MASK ( Mothers Against Senseless Killings) on June 2

Rabbinical student Tamar Manasseh, founder of MASK ( Mothers Against Senseless Killings) will lead a program on June 2, 2018 at the Tross Family Education Center at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Road, Glencoe. The presentation will follow a Shabbat service that begins at 10:00am.

MASK is a grassroots organization to fight gun violence beginning in her own neighborhood, Englewood, which is often referred to as Chicago's Afghanistan.

Manasseh grew up in Rabbi Capers Funnye's Beth Shalom B'nai Zaken Congregation and actively lives her Jewish and African American identity..Through MASK, she organized a street corner presence to interact with young men. Then they organized a plan to get a lot to provide a permanent play area for kids. Already her model has been copied in other Chicago neighborhoods, as well as Evansville, Staten Island, and Memphis. MASK is Part of The Jewish Alliance for Economic Justice series of lectures.
