Prospect Heights Fire Relief Benefit to Support Wheeling High School Students

The Wheeling Park District, in cooperation with the District 214 Education Foundation, is hosting a fundraiser from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Family Aquatic Center. All proceeds from the event benefit Wheeling High School students and their families affected by the recent fire.

The community is invited to come together for an evening at the Family Aquatic Center outdoor waterpark to support a great cause. A minimum donation of $5 per guest and $20 per family of five (additional family members are $5 each) includes admission to the pool and live DJ music provided by Elevated Entertainment. One hundred per cent of the entrance fee goes directly to the District 214 Education Foundation to help the 19 Wheeling High School students and their families displaced by the recent River Trails Condominium fire in Prospect Heights. All money raised will be disbursed through the District 214 Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and assist with the families' greatest needs as determined through conversations between the Wheeling High School student services team and the families. Every dollar will directly support the Wildcat family.

If you are unable to attend the Aug. 4 benefit night and would like to help, go to the direct giving link to benefit WHS students and their families affected by the fire at http://give.livingtree.com/c/help-whs-students-displaced-by-fire. Mail checks, payable to the D214 Education Foundation and marked "WHS Fire" in the memo line, to the Education Foundation at 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. For questions regarding the District 214 Education Foundation, contact Executive Director Erin Brooks at 847-718-7688.

The Family Aquatic Center is located at 105 Community Blvd., in Wheeling. The outdoor water park features a zero-depth pool with tube and body slides, drop slides and a toddler slide, water playground with large tipping bucket, splash pool with water basketball and monkey-bar activity pad. Concessions and locker rooms also are available.
