Grants available to organizations doing good deeds in Buffalo Grove

Grants of up to $2,500 are available through the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club for agencies or organizations that are making a positive difference in the Buffalo Grove community. Initiatives should provide long-term and sustainable benefits for Buffalo Grove, and its residents. The deadline to apply is Saturday, May 30.

While charitable and nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation are invited to apply, this is not a requirement. Faith-based or other organizations sponsoring projects that can benefit the community are also invited to apply.

Preference will be given to projects (as opposed to ongoing causes) that have the potential to improve the Buffalo Grove community - making it a better place to live and/or work. Effective projects should respond to real issues, improve the lives of community members, be realistic and utilize available resources, and have specific goals with measurable results.

"Our Community Grants program is aimed at supporting organizations or groups whose goal is to positively impact Buffalo Grove and make a difference, "said Deenie Pomilia, Community Grants chair.

"This past year has been challenging for all of us, as well as for organizations that serve our community members. We are thrilled to be able to offer this assistance."

Applications can be downloaded at bgrotary.org/community-grants. Organizations that apply must include a clear mission and goals, along with structured leadership.

For details, contact Pomilia at (847) 533-6605 or grants@bgrotary.org.

The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club is looking for new members. The club meets Thursdays starting at 12:15 p.m. Prospective members are invited to email info@bgrotary.org for information.
