Bolingbrook Garden Club donates over 1,500 pounds of fresh food to pantry
The Bolingbrook Garden Club has contributed more than 1,500 pounds of fresh, locally grown produce to the West Suburban Community Pantry during the 2023 growing season.
This outstanding effort is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our club members to serve the local community and was coordinated by club member Dennis Dill who just donated the final community garden harvest totals this week.
Despite a summer drought, Bolingbrook Garden Club members grew a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs in our community garden plots and home gardens.
These volunteers worked tirelessly, nurturing the soil and plants, and their hard work paid off in the form of a bountiful harvest.
The donation of over 1,500 pounds of fresh produce to the West Suburban Community Pantry is a record for the club and underscores the Bolingbrook Garden Club's commitment to combating food insecurity in our local community.
The club members believe that access to nutritious, locally grown food should be a right for all, and they are delighted to support those in need in the community.
The Bolingbrook Garden Club wishes to extend its gratitude to all its members, volunteers, and the local community for their support in achieving this incredible milestone.
They look forward to continuing their efforts to nourish and strengthen the community in the seasons to come.
