Turner Elementary School from District 33 in West Chicago held their annual McTeacher's Night

Turner Elementary School from District 33 in West Chicago held their annual McTeacher's Night at the West Chicago McDonald's on North Ave. on Thursday, April 13. A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Thursday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Turner Elementary School. The students and families were excited to see their teachers and principal Rodriguez behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Many teachers and staff members worked from the elementary school, including Principal Rodriguez. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies and even dressing up in a pie costume--all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm.

Kindergarten teacher Ms. Loerzel had a blast dancing around the restaurant in a pie costume. Ms. Loerzel and Ms. Sullivan were encouraging the families to make a donation and receive a delicious hot apple pie.

Ronald McDonald stopped by to enjoy the festivities and meet the students and staff members from Turner Elementary School. The students enjoyed getting their picture taken and giving Ronald McDonald high fives!

A special thank you goes to teacher Lilly Sullivan who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended the event. Turner teachers worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening. Turner Elementary plans to use the money raised to go into the PTO fund for items needed for the school.
