Comic book cover contest underway

Artistic teenagers are invited draw or paint their own original comic book cover and enter a contest at the Dunn Museum in Libertyville. Winners will earn a free guided tour of the Marvelocity exhibition with comic book artist Alex Ross. The deadline is June 1.

GUIDELINES

- Ages 13-18 are eligible to participate in the contest.

- All entries must be received by 5 pm, June 1.

- Entries must be original artwork and no larger than 18 inches by 24 inches.

- Artwork must be two-dimensional/flat. No 3D objects or electronic formats.

- Entries will not be accepted in frames, or in glass or acrylic holders.

- All art must be submitted with an entry form. Limit one entry per person.

- Content must be suitable for a family friendly environment.

- Creators may use whatever medium they desire (black and white, color, pencil sketch, painting, ink, etc.)

- Submitted covers may include already existing comic book characters or original characters.

HOW TO ENTER

- Download and fill out an entry form. (lcfpd.org/assets/1/18/comic_book_cover_contest_form.pdf)

- Attach the entry form to your cover art.

- Drop off the art and entry form at the Dunn Museum located at 1899 W. Winchester, Libertyville, during open hours.

- Submitted drawings will be available for pick-up after the contest.

PRIZES

- Entries will be judged by local artists and community members.

- Up to 10 winners will be selected to earn a guided tour of the Marvelocity exhibition with comic book artist Alex Ross at the Dunn Museum.
