Hanover Township Job Fair set for March 30

Hanover Township, Rep. Fred Crespo, and Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison are co-sponsoring the 11th Annual Community Job Fair on Wednesday, March 30. The job fair is open exclusively to veterans from 11 to 11:30 a.m., and open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 S. IL Route 59, in Bartlett. Jobseekers are asked to bring copies of their resumes to the event.

"While last year's virtual event was a success and well received, we look forward to having residents back at the Township, talking with employers face-to-face," said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire. "This is a great opportunity for those 18 and over to apply for a variety of positions and in most cases, be interviewed on the spot."

Over 50 employers will be on-site in the fields of health care, manufacturing, sales, administrative, transportation, industrial and more.

"One of the best ways to stimulate our economy is to help people who are unemployed or underemployed find appropriate employment," said State Rep. Fred Crespo. "This job fair has been a great way to connect candidates and companies in a meaningful and hopefully fruitful way."

According to the Illinois Department of Employment Security, the unemployment rate for Cook County is 5%.

"Hanover Township is a dynamic community with a skilled, diverse workforce and I know there are companies in the area who have excellent opportunities for training and employment. Being able to put these two groups together in the same room is an exciting and important part of our local economic development," said Commissioner Morrison. "I'm proud to co-sponsor this event and I have no doubt that we'll see a lot of connections being made."
