WACO Offers Three Scholarships to College-Bound High School Seniors in Chicago's Northwest and Western Suburbs
Schaumburg, Illinois-April 1, 2019-The Woodfield Area Children's Organization (WACO) is accepting applications for its annual college scholarship program. The application deadline is April 30, 2019.
Each year, WACO awards three college scholarships to area college-bound high school seniors attending public and private schools in the District 211, District 214 and U-46 service areas.
WACO established the scholarship in recognition of three community leaders who through their continued efforts, furthered its mission to enhance the quality of life for children living at and below the poverty level in Chicago's northwestern and western suburbs. The John Bestmann Memorial Scholarship, Michael J. O'Malley Memorial Scholarship, and William A. Kelly, Sr. Memorial Scholarship are awarded to deserving graduating high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university in the Fall of 2019.
Qualifying students demonstrate a commitment to helping those in need, are in good standing at their high school, and can establish acceptance at an accredited four-year college or university for the calendar year 2019. WACO will award a total of $6000 to three students.
