St. Mark's Lutheran-St. Charles adds Wednesday night service
St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Charles recently added a Wednesday night worship and invites the community to participate. The 6:30 p.m. service gives those with Sunday conflicts the opportunity to worship regularly.
"Prior to the COVID pandemic, we used to have a Saturday night service. Now that the pandemic protocols are being relaxed, we asked our parishioners for their feedback concerning restoring an alternative day service," said Jamie Holt, senior pastor. "The feedback overwhelmingly suggested that Wednesday night was a more popular time."
"Since midweek services were already being used during Advent and Lent, it seemed to be a normal extension of our ministry," Holt said.
The Wednesday service rotates between a traditional liturgical service and a contemporary Praise format every other week. Each service offers the distribution of communion.
While the Wednesday night service is more casual than Sunday services the content is still the same.
