COVID-19: One death, 119 new cases in Glenview and Northbrook
A Northbrook resident died of COVID-19 in the past week, bringing total fatalities to 113 and cases to 2,862 in the village since the pandemic began a year ago.
Glenview has had 101 deaths and 3,943 cases, but no deaths in the past week, Cook County public health and medical examiner's offices reported.
Newly diagnosed cases totaled 44 in Northbrook and 75 in Glenview in the past week.
In the previous week, Northbrook had 33 new cases and Glenview had 68.
Total cases statewide stand at 1,224,915, and 21,116 Illinoisans have died since the pandemic began.
People fully vaccinated with two doses of the Moderna or Pfizer -BioNTech vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are 14% of suburban Cook and DuPage county residents, 12% in Lake and Will counties and 11% in Kane and McHenry counties.
Fourteen percent of Illinois' population is fully vaccinated.
