Winning images of our weekly contest
This picture was taken from the boat at Leech Lake in Minnesota this past week. It was difficult to get a steady hold with the wave activity. There was originally one Bald eagle until he/she made a series of calls and a very short time later a second showed up and perched close by. This was the first trip with this camera, a Canon Powershot SX730HS. It has a zoom capability that allowed this from about 75 yards away.

I found the colors and complexity of shape this Aster display quite attractive.

The many sea anemones in this picture were found in a tidal pool on Klaloch beach on the Pacific coast of Washington. This beach is part of Olympic National Park. At low tide many of these pools are shallow enough that people can wade into them to get pictures of the ocean creatures. I took this picture about five years ago.

I took this photo of a lone tree while on an airboat ride on the St. John's River near Cocoa, Florida. I like the way the tree stands out against the empty horizon.

I took this picture getting on the CTA Brown Line in the loop in May. The blue tread line seems to stretch into the horizon. A bit eerie as no one was around!
