Hey Nonny launches Blooming Artists Showcase Series

Arlington Heights music venue and bistro Hey Nonny is launching a new Blooming Artists Showcase series, highlighting up-and-coming musical talent. The talent managers at Hey Nonny are using this series to give emerging artists an opportunity to take the stage for a mini set without the pressure of carrying an entire show. The first Blooming Artists Showcase will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22.

"So often we see talent that's on the rise and on the cusp of something big," said co-owner Chris Dungan. "The Blooming Artists Showcase series will shine a spotlight on these artists, so a few years down the road, you'll be able to say you saw them first before they hit it big."

The first installment of the Blooming Artists Showcase will feature three very interesting performers: Jagger, Darryl Markette, and Andrew Robinson.

Jagger's unique style is reminiscent of the artists of the 70s, but with a tone unlike anything you've heard before. She's written alongside Grammy-nominated songwriters and her newest song, "I Go Crazy," has an ethereal feeling with soft yet expressive vocals and lyrics that will move you. Her approach to songwriting and vocalization brings a calming feeling to every song.

Country artist Darryl Markette and his band MARKETTE have performed on WGN-TV and The Mancow Show, and Darryl has headlined some of Chicago's most prestigious music venues, including House of Blues and Joe's on Weed Street. Darryl also regularly brings his country sound to Nashville and recently performed an all-original set at the infamous Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood.

Acoustic singer-songwriter Andrew Robinson captivates audiences with his continuous search for the inner complexities of simple personal interaction and love in his songwriting and acoustic renditions. This versatile artist channels the vocal passion of the soul singers of old while digging deep into the catalogs of some of the greatest in folk, pop, and rock.

"We're very excited about the first installment of the Blooming Artists series because the styles of our three artists are so unique but will blend together nicely for a great listening experience," said Dungan. "If you're someone who loves discovering new artists, this series will provide an introduction to three very talented performers that you may not have heard of yet."
