Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital nurse delivers first baby of 2018

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital's first baby of 2018 was born at 2:19 a.m. Monday, Jan 1.

Drew Smith, 6 pounds, 12 ounces and 19.75 inches long, was born to Katie and Jason Smith of Sugar Grove. Both baby and mother are resting comfortably at the Downers Grove hospital.

"Happy new year! Happy birthday and thanks Good Sam," said Katie Smith, who works as a nurse educator at the hospital.
