Schaumburg Choral Artists present contemporary choral works, spirituals at May concerts
The Schaumburg Choral Artists, under the direction of Tim Koll, will present two spring performances this May featuring a program of contemporary choral works and spirituals performed by one of the top non-professional vocal ensembles in the greater Chicago area.
The first performance will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at Our Savior’s United Methodist Church, 701 E. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door.
The second performance will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 205 N. Prospect Ave. in Park Ridge. Admission to this concert is free.
Program selections for both concerts include “My Song in the Night” by Elaine Hagenberg, “Õhtul” by Pärt Uusberg and “Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel” by Moses Hogan.
The Schaumburg Choral Artists performs regularly at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts (soon to be Al Larson Cultural Center) and, in 2024, completed its first overseas concert tour with performances in Ireland and Scotland.
The ensemble provides a unique choral opportunity for advanced adult singers throughout the Chicago northwest suburbs and surrounding communities.
