The Kirk Players presents ‘Alice In Wonderland’

With great excitement and a nod to its 60 year legacy, The Kirk Players is reaching back to its roots, and is thrilled to present “Alice in Wonderland.”

Follow Alice down the rabbit hole into a weird and wonderful world where she meets whimsical characters like the enigmatic Cheshire Cat, the hilarious Mad Hatter, and the volatile Queen of Hearts. Through tea parties, noisy kitchens and a very curious croquet game, Alice must find her way through Wonderland and back home to her cat, Dinah.

Lewis Carroll’s classic story, “Alice in Wonderland,” will come to life March 27-29 with Kirk Players’ production at Mundelein High School, 1350 Hawley St., Mundelein. Adapted by Anne Coulter Martens, the play is sure to delight audiences young and old.

Director Jeanna Daebelliehn brings together veteran Kirk Players and guest performers of all ages, with more than 20 students hailing from local schools throughout Lake County, including Grayslake, Hawthorn Woods, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills and Wauconda.

“It has been a pleasure working with such a wonderfully talented cast and crew, along with an amazingly creative production team,” Daebelliehn said. “Come see this crazy, fun and entertaining show that audiences will not want to miss!”

Assistant Director, Chris Brouton, echoes that thought adding, “I’m proud to be a part of this production with the best director, management team and cast anyone can ask for. This one is going to be a lot of fun!”

The show’s management team is complemented with stage manager Shelly Healy, assistant stage manager Jen Tomlin and technical cirector Teresa Schriver.

“Alice in Wonderland” was the first children’s show performed by The Kirk Players in 1992 and they are excited to present it once again in their 60th anniversary season. Founded in 1966 by John W. Lynn, The Kirk Players have provided ongoing contributions to local schools in the form of grants and scholarships. In addition, The Kirk Players has donated over $100,000 to charitable groups throughout Lake County since their inception.
