Mount Prospect Historical Society to hold bingo night with a twist

Share a fun evening with family and friends when the Mount Prospect Historical Society hosts a Family Bingo Night at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, in the society’s 1896 Schoolhouse at 103 S. Maple Street, Mount Prospect.

Those of all ages will enjoy placing tokens on bingo squares featuring photos of historic sites, people, artifacts and more associated with Mount Prospect. The caller will describe the photo and the players must be able to make the necessary association.

Bingo cards will be free with a maximum of two available per person. Three games will be played over the course of the evening. Fun and novelty prizes will be awarded to winners.

Registration is limited to 30 people, so log onto mtphist.org to save your seat. A goodwill donation is requested.

The Mount Prospect Historical Society will offer a craft class for all ages from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13.

Participants will make pressed flower lanterns — a simple, yet beautiful, craft. The dried flowers bring a splash of color, and the tea lights inside give the lanterns a soft, cozy glow.

“This project is perfect for celebrating summer and works especially well as a decoration for events like weddings or parties. It also makes a great handmade gift for someone special,” said Laurie Roubitchek, instructor and Mount Prospect resident.

Supplies will be provided as part of the $10 fee, so bring yourself and an eager approach. Register at mphist.org.
