How muskrats shape bird-friendly wetlands is the topic of the Lake County Audubon Society meeting at 7 p.m. April 7, at Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive in Vernon Hills.

Stephanie Beilke, senior manager of conservation science for Audubon Great Lakes, and Leo Chan Gaskins, community ecologist at the University of Chicago and research partner with Audubon Great Lakes, will discuss how muskrats are vital to bird diversity by transforming wetlands with their dens.
