Early bird tickets are available for the popular West Suburban Community Pantry Chefs’ Culinary Celebration through Friday, Jan. 31. The event, now in its 13th year, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 23, at Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn. The Chef’s Celebration brings together the region’s top culinary talent for an unforgettable evening of gourmet dining and community support.

Attendees will enjoy eight courses including Thyme and Lavender Oil Toast Points with Whipped Ricotta and Candied Fig prepared by Executive Chef Michael Donald Charles DeAngelis of Macedonia Cultural Center; Shellfish Chowder by Executive Chef Nick Landeweer of Abbington Distinctive Banquets; Brussel Spout Salad by Executive Chef Raul Armento of Belgio’s Catering; Fried Chicken & Waffles prepared by Executive Chef John Saccomando Jr. of Adelle’s Modern Kitchen + Bar; Sesame Sweet Chili Salmon by Executive Chef Stephen Langlois — Westin Chicago Lombard; Coffee Rubbed Pork Loin by CEO & Chef Zac Rogers — Spice Dog Provisions; Braised Short Rib and Sweet Corn Risotto by Executive Chef George Barg — Elements at Water Street.

The meal will be followed by a surprise dessert by Chief Chocolatier Cathy Bouchard from Le Chocolat du Bouchard . A vegetarian option is offered for each course if requested upon registering.

The event features inspiring speakers and recognizes community leaders in the fight against hunger. The evening also includes a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres and music by Abigail Hughes Stoner, as well as wines on the table, a silent auction with electronic bidding and checkout, mission moment and paddle raise.

Proceeds from this event provide food and supportive services to neighbors in DuPage and Will counties. West Suburban Community Pantry currently serves over 9,000 adults, children, and seniors each month.
