Eli Skinner Chapter sends delegates to state DAR conference
The Illinois State Organization of the Daughters of the American Revolution held its 119th State Conference at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington on April 24-26.
Awards were presented for Outstanding American History Teacher, DAR Good Citizens, American History and Christopher Columbus essays, and Outstanding Youth Volunteer.
Special speakers at this event were Col. Michael Haerr - "Impact of the Vietnam Veterans on Today's Military" and retired Col. Jill Morgenthaler - "The Courage to Take Command".
The newly elected officers for 2015-17 were as follows: Sharon Frizzell, state regent; Sue Wallace, state chaplain; Joyce Schmale, state recording secretary; Rebecca Dobias, state registrar; Joanne Clauss, state historian.
The Eli Skinner Chapter, NSDAR was represented by Mary Helfrich, DAR schools; Amy Myss, regent; Joy Entzminger, chaplain; Noie Hahnfeld, director; and Nancy Harstad, Project Patriot chairman.
