Visit from the German Cosulate Chicago and B1 (DSD1) Awards Ceremony
Saturday, November 1 was a special day at our DANK school in Arlington Heights. The German Vice Council General from Chicago, Frau Wiebke Zell, came for a visit, along with Frau Anka Feling, German Language Advisor ZfA. They were greeted by the Board and directors and given the tour of the school. The students were eager to greet our special guests in the various classrooms. Later, we gathered in the cafeteria where the DANK family was welcomed by our president Herr Roger Herod.
The Central Agency for Schools Abroad ZfA has supported the school generously over many years with books. This year, Frau Feling offered the two directors two laptops that are used for exams and administrative purposes. Then, Frau Zell warmly greeted the DANK family and congratulated the level 7 students who took the B1 exams last year and also, honored the ones from the year before. She handed them a certificate and a book. After many years of studying German, this is an achievement to be proud of. BRAVO!
Then, the DANK family enjoyed a presentation by the pre-K and Kindergarten class, a song by the students in level 1-3, and a German Volksdance by level 4-5. We concluded our celebration with Kaffee and German Bretzeln. Es hat allen Spass gemacht!
