Dundee Twp. Lions donate to Community Crisis Center

Dundee Township Lions donated recent profits from their concessions at Concerts in the Park to the Community Crisis Center in Elgin.

Lions president Jim McClung gave the Crisis Center Supervisor Lana Myers a check for $400.

The Lions held their last club meeting at the Crisis Center to learn more about this vital community resource.

Myers stated the center has been in operation for 40 years. They provide counseling, shelter for victims of domestic violence and homelessness. They also provide legal referrals, programs for abusers, community education, and maintain a 24-hour hotline. Last year, the center helped 295 women and 230 children at their facility.
