Hinsdale Central Senior Evan Floersch Named NSCAA Player of the Year, All-American
Hinsdale Township High School District 86 today congratulates Hinsdale Central High School senior Evan Floersch on being named a 2014 Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Floersch, a member of the 2014 state championship Red Devil team, was also named to the NSCAA's Boys' Fall High School All-America Team.
According to the NSCAA, 100 players in total were named to the All-America Teams, 56 boys and 44 girls. The players will be celebrated and recognized tomorrow, Saturday, January 17, during a special luncheon at the 2015 NSCAA convention in Philadelphia. Floersch will be in good company, the legendary former manager of Manchester United Sir Alex Ferguson will be honored at the same luncheon.
Held annually, the NSCAA convention draws coaches and soccer professionals from all over the world, including this year's attendees Pele and world champion Paul Brietner.
Floersch was also named All-State by the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association. He has a verbal commitment to play for Emory University in Atlanta.
