NCH Offers Free Programs for Seniors in September

Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is hosting several free programs for adults over age 55 in September at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights. To register for the following programs, call 847.253.5532. You do not need to be an Arlington Heights resident to attend.

• Thursday, September 4 - Cardiovascular disease - 11 a.m. to noon.

• Thursday, September 4 - Optimizing men's health - noon to 1 p.m.

• Wednesday, September 10 - Healthy cooking demonstration - 9 to 10 a.m.

• Thursday, September 11 - Balance to prevent falls - 10 to 11 a.m.

• Friday, September 12 - Myths and truths about diabetes management - 9 to 10 a.m.

• Monday, September 15 - Managing arthritis - 10 to 11 a.m.

• Monday, September 15 - Ask the physical therapist - 11 a.m. to noon.

• Tuesday, September 16 - Prostate cancer risk: prevention and screening - 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

• Thursday, September 18 - Do's and don'ts of flu prevention - 11 a.m. to noon

• Thursday, September 18 - Oh, my aching back - noon to 1 p.m.

• Monday, September 22 - Alternatives in pain management - 11 a.m. to noon

• Wednesday, September 24 - Healthy eating seminar - 9 to 10 a.m.

• Wednesday, September 24 - Thinking of giving up tobacco? - 1 to 3 p.m.

• Thursday, September 25 - Ask the personal trainer - 9 to 10 a.m.

• Thursday, September 25 - Learn about dementia - 10 to 11:30 a.m.

• Thursday, September 25 - Learn how to prevent falls and get a mini assessment - 1 to 2 p.m.

• Tuesday, September 30 - The hoarding dilemma - 1 to 2 p.m.
