Bolingbrook man accused of selling fake Blackhawks tickets
A Bolingbrook man was held briefly in DuPage County jail Friday on charges he sold fake versions of regular-season Chicago Blackhawks tickets.
Edgar I. Kim, 29, is charged with one count of felony forgery after he was accused of selling the phony tickets to the Dec. 27, 2013, game to an unsuspecting fan on Craigslist.
DuPage sheriff's officials said the victim agreed to purchase the two 300-level tickets for more than $500 and then met Kim at a business in an unincorporated portion of the county. It wasn't until the victim went to the game at the United Center that he learned the tickets were not legitimate.
According to jail records, Kim was released Friday after posting $1,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. on June 16 before Judge John Kinsella.
