Holiday Food Programs Provide Ideas for Gatherings

Two holiday food programs are coming to the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample foods and acquire recipes at both of these free events.

"Holiday Canapes and Hors d'oeuvres" will take place from 7:30-9 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8 in the Rasmussen South Room on the library's second floor. Chef Michael Maddox will demonstrate exciting canapés with a range of fresh flavors, textures and tastes.

"Vintage Cocktail Parties" will be held from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9 in the Rasmussen South Room. Author and vintage cookbook collector Amy Alessio will offer age-old advice for cocktail parties and share cooking anecdotes. Registered guests are invited to email their favorite cocktail food recipe to Amy prior to the program, or bring 30 hardcopies to share.
