McHenry man dies when dump truck runs over him
Authorities believe a McHenry man died Monday when he failed to secure the dump truck he operated, which then ran over him.
Bryan J. Reid, 63, was pronounced dead Monday at 12:44 p.m. at the Elmhurst-Chicago Stone Co. quarry, 351 Royce Road, Bolingbrook, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.
The Bolingbrook Police Department responded to the scene around 9:40 a.m. Monday for a man with an apparent stomach wound, Lt. Mike Rompa of the Bolingbrook Police Department said in an email. Officers found the man on the ground at the rear of the dump truck, Rompa said.
The Bolingbrook Police Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
An autopsy was performed Tuesday, but a cause of death will be determined once the investigations and toxicology reports are complete, according to the coroner's office.
The preliminary investigation shows no signs of foul play, Rompa said.
