Sheriff's office seeks help in finding driver in Prairie View hit-and-run

The Lake County sheriff's office is asking for the community's help in locating a driver who fled after fatally striking 68-year-old James Spicak last week. Cause of Lake Villa house fire under investigation

The cause of a house fire on the 500 block of Forest View Road in Lake Villa remained under investigation Tuesday night, Lake Villa police Cmdr. Mike Rutkowski said. Firefighters were dispatched to the house at 3:49 p.m., and the fire was under control at 4:07 p.m., Rutkowski said. No injuries were reported. Full story.
