Holiday items are available at shop
The Algonquin St. John's Mission Resale Shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
The shop is in downtown Algonquin, one block west of Route 31 at 215 Washington St. Parking is readily available.
Sales and donations are giving many unfortunate families a very happy Christmas.
The Christmas magic is here, and to keep up with the seasonal donations and the shop's space, prices are very reasonable. New at the shop are three handsome punch bowl sets, Christmas dishes and 5-cent greeting cards.
Seasonal donations are accepted only on Friday or Saturday when the shop is open. Call (847) 658-9105 with any questions.
Your dog ought to be in pictures
Bring your dog in for pictures with Santa Paws from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the new doggy day-care center, Chasin' Our Tails, at 766 Industrial Drive, Cary. No appointment is necessary; just come in.
We will also have a Hanukkah background at this location.
Pet owners can get two digital prints and holiday keeper card for $15.
All proceeds will benefit Young at Heart Pet Rescue in Palatine.
Your dog may play in the playrooms for free while you both wait for your picture to be taken.
One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the homeless animals in Young at Heart Pet Rescue's care.
To reach Young at Heart, call (847) 529-2025 or e-mail info@yahpetrescue.com, or visit the Web site, www.yahpetrescue.com.
