Wish Tree planted in Schaumburg
Through Sunday, the Schaumburg Jaycees' 23rd annual Christmas Wish Tree will be located at 160D S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, next to Bonefish Grill.
Hours are 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Stop by to select an ornament containing the wishes of a child, or do some holiday shopping.

Conant students take kids shopping
Students from Conant High School in Hoffman Estates volunteered for the Woodfield Area Children's Organization on Saturday at Wal-Mart, 801 Meacham Road, Elk Grove Village. The 115 students are members of Conant's National Honor Society, and took underprivileged kids shopping.
Council to hold tai chi demo
Linda Cao, of Meridian Movement Therapy, will give a tai chi demonstration at the December meeting of the Barrington Area Council on Aging's Parkinson's Disease Education Group. The meeting will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Eastlake Dining Room at The Garlands of Barrington, 1000 Garlands Lane.
Cao, who also works with Alexian Brothers Neurosciences Institute in Hoffman Estates, will be accompanied by Carol Hartman from Alexian. The group is open to Parkinson's disease patients and their family members who wish to learn more about the disease.
