Wrap: Mead, Wauconda top Lakes

Lakes' girls basketball team enjoyed a 15-13 lead after one quarter and but host Wauconda led 32-22 at halftime and never looked back.

Lauren Mead scored a game-high 21 points (two 3-pointers), as Wauconda won 67-36.

Wauconda improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the North Suburban Prairie Division.

Lakes fell to 0-11, 0-4.

The Eagles have lost 67 straight games.

Kate Martino and Katie LePage added 14 and 10 points, respectively, for Wauconda.

Lakes received 14 points from Keshia Cunningham.

Antioch 52, Vernon Hills 41: Christine Gaborek had 15 points and 8 rebounds for the Sequoits in the North Suburban Prairie Division game.

Brittany Deem added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals for Antioch (3-7, 1-3). Katie Budd hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 8 points.

Taryn Abbassian scored 12 points for Vernon Hills (4-7, 2-2).

Grayslake Central 46, Libertyville 40: Rachel Culp and Meghan LeBaron each scored 11 points for the Rams (2-6) in the nonconference game.

Libertyville (6-5) received 8 points apiece from Dana Eriksen, Ali Haws and Casey Hopper.

Girls gymnastics

Stevenson d. Lakes: The Patriots chalked up a 143.9 in defeating the Eagles (123.85).

Chelsie Seplowin led Stevenson, winning vault (9.55), bars (9.4) and beam (9.6).

Lakes' Cody Ksioszk earned a winning 9.3 on floor and took the all-around with a 36.85.
