Addison referendum

The Addison Park District board unanimously approved a resolution this week for the Addison Aquatic and Athletic Complex referendum question, which will be on the Feb. 5 ballot. The referendum has two key components: first, to construct an outdoor aquatic center on district-owned land at Centennial Park and second to construct a regulation-size, multipurpose, synthetic turf athletic field and two smaller, natural grass fields at Centennial Park. The total proposed cost is $14 million. For a homeowner with a property valued at $250,000, the proposal would translate into a tax increase of about $60 a year. Information will be mailed to residents in coming weeks. There also will be informational nights Jan. 17 at Community Recreation Center, 120 E. Oak St., and Jan. 29 at Centennial Recreation Center, 1776 W. Centennial Place. For details, visit addisonparkdistrict.org.
