Teachers hold kids, future in their hands
There is one simple fact many people seem to be forgetting when discussing teacher salaries: it is the second most important job in the world.
Where would we get life-saving doctors, police officers, and firefighters if there had not been a good solid pre K-12 education? Who inspired artists, athletes and actors and gave them the foundation on which they developed their skills?
After parenting, with which educators sometimes help, there is nothing more important than the education our children learn in school every year.
Stop trying to count the months, days or hours you think we spend at our profession. The children are our future, and that future is in the hands of the dedicated teachers of our schools.
