2 dead in separate DuPage crashes

A man was killed early this morning when his car veered off the I-290 extension into an embankment and caught fire in Addison.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. as the driver was heading eastbound near the Route 83 exit ramp, the DuPage County coroner's office reported. His identify has been withheld pending family notification.

In an unrelated crash, a New Lenox man died early this morning at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove after a crash on I-55 in Bolingbrook.

The coroner's office said deceased, 54-year-old Samuel J. Ursetta, was traveling inbound on I-55 when he struck the center median at around 11:15 p.m.
