WDSRA clients show off their singing, dancing skills at competition

Like so many girls nowadays, Jessica Cachola of Carol Stream knows all the words to those songs from Disney's "High School Musical."

For 14-year-old Jessica, however, her love of song and dance translated into a first-place honor at the Western DuPage Special Recreation Association's "WDSRA's Got Talent" competition.

Finalists also included Michelle Kruse of Wheaton for second place and Michael Chen of Naperville for third place. Jackie Brown and Heather Poling, both of Glen Ellyn, received honorable mentions.

Jessica and other finalists performed before a live audience during a taping at Comcast Studios in Mount Prospect. Contestants competed in the areas of song, dance, martial arts and cheer.

Bob Love, former player and current community relations director for the Bulls, was a celebrity judge. Co-hosts for the evening were former Video Ventures volunteer Jeff Madden and actress Sarafina Vecchio, who most recently appeared in "Tony and Tina's Wedding."
