Bloomingdale man held in Glendale Hts. robbery
A Bloomingdale man was being held Tuesday on a $150,000 bond at the DuPage County jail following a robbery in Glendale Heights, officials said.
Ja Emm Williams, 25, faces charges of robbery, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, unlawful possession of cannabis, reckless driving and driving on a suspended or revoked license, police said.
He was arrested Friday night after police responded to a report of a robbery in the 500 block of Gregory Ave., officials said. A man flagged down an officer on patrol in the area and said he'd just been robbed, police said. The victim identified a vehicle leaving the area. When the officer attempted to stop a car matching the description, it fled north on Glen Ellyn Road into Bloomingdale, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was apprehended with assistance from the Bloomingdale Police Department, officials said. Officers found $200 and a small quantity of marijuana, police said.
Williams remains in jail because he did not post 10 percent of his bond as of Tuesday evening. He is expected to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Nov. 5.
