Really ready for school

Youth Service Bureau is grateful to The Chapel of Grayslake for helping the youth who attend the Willow Brooke Resource Center go back to school with fully stocked backpacks.

The high cost of sending kids back to school is difficult for many families and this donation was a big help.

YSB provided The Chapel with the names, ages and gender of the youth and The Chapel filled up 50 backpacks with appropriate grade level supplies.

The Willow Brooke Resource Center gave the kids their backpacks at their annual Back to School Party on Aug. 30. Parents and families attended the outdoor party.

Pinatas were donated from Buena Vista store and the cake was donated from Tepeyac.

The Willow Brooke Resource Center, previously Lakewood Neighborhood Resource Center, is a collaborative creation of a group of community agencies, the police department, schools and Cunat Property Management.

The Youth Service Bureau is the lead agency for the center providing management of the center programming. The center provides education, learning, and a sense of community to the children. It operates all year round.

YSB, 101 S. Jefferson St., Woodstock, is a not-for-profit organization that's been helping youth and families in McHenry County since 1975 by providing prevention programs, counseling and social services to youth and families.
