Tell us about your fall, winter bazaar
Is your not-for-profit group having a fall or winter bazaar? An arts & crafts show? Let us help you spread the word.
Our annual listing of holiday bazaars and craft shows will publish Oct. 5 in the Neighbor section. The deadline to be included is today.
Write up the basic details of your event. Be sure to include when and where the event will take place, the cost of admission, highlights and a phone number or e-mail address readers can use to get more details.
Also include a phone number just for us, in case we need to ask you a question prior to publication. There is no charge to be included in the listing.

Seminar to focus on domestic violence
Evangelical Child and Family Agency will hold a one-day community education seminar, "Behind Closed Doors -- Shedding Light on Domestic Violence," from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Evangelical Covenant Church, 2S571 Lake View Drive, Wheaton. Enter design contest for Carol Stream
The design contest "My Favorite Thing about Carol Stream" has a deadline of 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at the village manager's office, 500 N. Gary Ave., Carol Stream.
Students ages 5 to 10 may submit an artistic design for next year's vehicle license sticker. Applications are available at the village office, the Carol Stream Public Library, Simkus Recreation Center, Aldrin Center, Community Education Center and Culver's Restaurant.

Club's extravaganza to aid young child
The Glendale Heights Junior Woman's Club will hold its 24th annual fall extravaganza auction and craft fair at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 26 at Glendale Lakes Golf Club, 1550 President St., Glendale Heights. Dinner will be at 7 p.m., and the live auction will be at 7:30 p.m.
The auction will benefit Timothy Jacob "T.J." Skipper, 2, who was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a form of childhood eye cancer.
Proceeds also will benefit the Homeless Sandwich Project, a program run by F. James and Virginia Proffitt of Glendale Heights to feed more than 800 people in the streets of Chicago per week.

Glen Ellyn library to honor educator
The Glen Ellyn Public Library has the Marion McKinney Memorial High School Testbook Collection, a non-circulating reference collection for high school students.
The collection honors the memory of McKinney and all the work she did for the library and students. For details, call Dawn Bussey at (630) 469-0879.
The library also will display a collection of drawings and paintings by Linn Eldred during October at the library, 400 Duane St. Glen Ellyn.
