OSHA probe continues
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is continuing its investigation into the Dec. 12 death of a 28-year-old Lombard man at his workplace in Schaumburg. Brian Jensen was working alone at the Earle M. Jorgensen Co., 1100 Mitchell Blvd., when co-workers found him with his head caught in a large automated machine just before 10 a.m. Investigations by OSHA can take up to six months, depending on the complexity of the incident, representatives said. Schaumburg police have concluded their own investigation, having been satisfied there was no criminal aspect to the death.
Parent University deadline nears
The deadline to register for Parent University in Naperville is approaching. The event, sponsored by Naperville Unit District 203 and Indian Prairie Unit District 204, will run from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 24 at Naperville Central High School, 440 W. Aurora Ave. Registration is $25 per person and due Jan. 6. Parents can attend three workshops throughout the day as well as the keynote address, "Parenting - Are We Having Fun Yet?" by Char Wenc. Christmas tree Collection
Christmas trees and other holiday greens will be collected on the first three Mondays of January at no additional cost in Glen Ellyn. Residents are asked to remove all lights, ornaments and ornament hooks from the trees before placing them on the parkway or curbs along with regular refuse.
